Together, we can make a difference.
Little Eagle is located on Standing Rock Tribal Lands in South Dakota. Many know the region because of the organized opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline which threatens the region.
The Little Eagle community is isolated with a 90% unemployment rate and nearly 80% of the residents live below the poverty level. The snowfall averages from moderate to heavy for winter weather with temps from 17 to 30 degrees below zero. They are facing challenges, with little access to food and winter clothing with the added stress of Covid-19 which continues to devastate elders, adults, and children alike. This Lakota/Nakota/Dakota community is one of the most rural and under-resourced in the United States.
We have run campaigns for school and student supplies, cold weather items, personal protection equipment, a monthly pantry, and holiday gifts and gift cards since 2020.
